Hello Oculus User Test Space !

Oculus are rolling out a version update which will allow for quest developers to share apps with selected testers without the lengthy and complicated store approval process !

The approval process controlled the app quality that was published to the store but I found that having developed for Gear VR then Oculus Go and then finally going through the store approval process for Quest, I began to move towards Rift development on Steam.

So, this announcement that quest development is being made easier is a blessed relief ! This means that user testing can be done which essentially measures a users experience within the affordances and constraints of mobile VR. I have spent many weeks testing and finding new ways of achieving low load , high quality graphics and continue to experiment with general VR environment design for narrative but getting feedback directly from users has been sorely lacking.

I hope to load up the experimental apps I have put on the back burner and get basic versions onto quest to test them.

POD - Clinical Training VR App

Helix - Living Thesis : Experiment Visual Arts research VR/AR App

Lunarium - Halloween Puzzle Game Narrative App

Happy Days.
