Annecy, in conjunction with Google Spotlight Stories, has introduced a new category of animation which explores VR.

This is a very exciting field of development. I am currently exploring the possibilities of this medium in partnership with a writer.

The way I understand it, the sequential storyboard approach is applied to a game environment whereby the ‘reader’navigates around the world as they would in a game environment. They will encounter small stories which form part of a larger story.

Key plot points are drawn attention to by the use of sound affects, the characters actions, walking, looking etc; so that the story makes sense.

I’ve have over simplified my explanation but I am exploring this further in practice.
